Exquisite original origami by John Szinger.

Feeling happy today, Ande and Dany's wedding party last night was stupendously lovely, with a byproduct being a partial reunion of Pulsallama. Hello Ms. Palmieri {and her sweet husband Phil}! Damn. Thoughts went to Wendy Wild, who we lost to breast cancer a few years ago, Min is in Miami, Jean is in Austin, Texas. Kim & Laurie, nobody knows where they are. Ann Magnusson is in L.A., I think. My dates were corrected: I introduced them in 1980, 24 years ago! Unbelievable, yet true. We've all held up pretty well, give or take an extra 10 lbs or so.

Running errands then working in my studio today. Time just flies.

I'm thrilled to report that my oldest, dearest friends in New York, Ande and Dany, recently got married in San Francisco!
Ande and Dany got Married!
I was friends with Ande, met Dany separately, and introduced them to each other about 23 years ago, and they've been together ever since! How fucking beautiful is this? Champagne and celebration is this weekend here in New York. They would have gotten married way back then if it were possible. Truly, I'm a bit teary-eyed today. Congratulations! I love you both.

Juggling many seriously heavy balls in the air now. Anything gets resolved, will post it. There are options to consider, directions to choose and long term goals to plan. I'm enjoying this, it's definitely stress, but the "good" kind. Sort of. I don't even remember what it's like to not have any. Time to start my engine.

Not much to talk about...shop is still extraordinarily busy, just trying to keep stock in. Making lots of embroidered shirts in the mornings using printed fabrics behind the embroidery and then cutting out portions of the shirt around the embroidery to reveal the prints. Working on Knitting for Dogs patterns. Seeing friends when I can. Meeting tommorrow am with rep for production knitters in Macedonia {of all places, works in nicely with my Alexander obsession}, hopefully to seque into wholesale knits so I can expand the business exponentially, Almost 4 years of making every fucking piece myself is more than enough, and I'm tired of it.

Searching for new, larger storefront when I have the time, getting ready to go run errands and look at a few today. Prospect Heights is going to change drastically because of the unstoppable juggernaut of the proposed Nets arena half a block away from my shop, and I need to get out before that commences. Better to be proactive and gone by the time demolition starts.

Hopefully seeing Guy Maddins new movie "The Saddest Music in the World" starring Isabella Rosselini tonight with Ina.

Exciting developments: It's actually a good thing I haven't posted an ecomm form to get the Vote Kerry shirts yet, I've sold out of them, and so has Rebecca, the designer, except for one pink one, size large, in my shop, that's been requested by Teresa Heinz herself! Rebecca called me this am, and I went into the shop to get it and get it to her. Wow! That's our next First Lady!

Somehow this fills me with optimism.

Made a faux half-panoramic photomontage with an image of working sheepdog this am, and went to put it in a small java applet using HotMedia, the software project I worked on a few years ago, and sadly realized I didn't even have a copy on my main computer now.

Spent the morning mentally traipsing down memory lane. It's sort of eye-opening to look back at the trajectory of your life, the results of the choices and decisions you made, the responses to events out of your control, and wonder if you got any wiser, and if so, how much? A bird's eye view.

Made jewelery for the shop this am, Color Bundles of stones. Redecorating and deep-cleaning my apartment the next two days off, I need to hardcore focus this summer to complete my work. I'm trying to figure out how I can take a week at the shore or in a cabin, AND bring my dog with me. Logistical problems ensue.

5.07.2004
Oh man, I need to get the Vote Kerry shirts up and knit a number swatch for the blog, I KNOW! Thanks for the reminders...but my shop has been going through the roof businesswise! I mean it's almost picked clean every few days, I'm thrilled and trying to keep stock in, going into the garment district in a few minutes to restock before I open today, anticipate a busy weekend.

Enjoying things immensely while alternately feeling overwhelmed, just a bit. Completely sold out of knits. *sigh* I REALLY want to clone myself. Have a rare headache this am.

5.05.2004
I'm just bone tired, and consequently am having troubles concentrating on finishing anything. Have a number of knitted items 75% done for the shop. Have many things and tasks to do and complete, want to simply lie on the beach somewhere, even Far Rockaway, most likely the Jersey Shore at some near point in time. Soon. It's the start of my week in about 47 minutes.

*sigh*

MS&W was a blast last Saturday. Got as much beautiful luxury yarn as I could carry, literally. Got a Hillbillylicious kettle corn stomachache and a sunburn. Bought shearling mousies for the pets. Breathed fresh country air and watched kids walking lambs and goats on rope leashes. Will definitely go again next year. Tired now!
